It felt like I’d been continually running into a brick wall. My life was complacent. My job was just a job. My passions were mere daydreams, not viable ways of making a living or even worth the effort trying to make them so.
This was it. This was life. Wake up, work, dream, go to bed. The magic was gone, and this was all there would be.
Then, a synchronicity in song led me to Christina.
The Rebirth Experience reminded me of an instrumental tune, “Sit Around the Fire,” by Jon Hopkins. The song features a talk by Ram Dass, in which he discusses the light of our lives being seemingly burned out . . . and yet, there is always an ember aglow, ready to reignite into flames.
Being a musician, I saw the connection as significant, and after reading through her website, I emailed Christina. From the start of our introductory video chat, I knew this was the path I was to go down.
My life would never be the same.
Christina is the type of person you want as a coach: She not only champions you, but pushes you to dig deeper, play harder and get uncomfortable in the name of allowing your true self to shine through. I remember one session involving painting (which I have little-to-no skill in), and absolutely dreading the process. The bad painting I made is proudly on my wall today, as a reminder of the turning point in our journey and the importance of play.
Christina was able to help me open up to my wife, my loved ones and myself. Through our sessions, I was able to see what was holding me back and what needed to shine brightest. This journey was not an easy one. It took work. It required practice, searching and mindfulness. Tears were shed. Hard conversations were made.
Yet, for the first time in years, I feel free. The veil is lifted; the door is opened.
Christina helped me see that even when we don’t feel the fire or the magic, it’s always there. It always has been. It always will be.
It’s hard to condense six months of magic into a few hundred words, but what’s important is this: Because of Christina, I know my fire, and how to take care of it. I know who I am, and what I want. I know how to live in the comfort of the glow.
